Charge!

So here we go! The wedding plans begin, I don't want to deviate too much from the original idea of cupcakes, pizza and beer, but, let's just say plus size it. How apropos, ya think? I found a cupcake tower thingy that allows for a small cake with topper at the top tier, plus 100 cupcakes, check. Lance wants Hostess cupcakes..okay one stop shopping at Walmart. Pizza and beer readily vailable in Mankato, check. Armory decorations, one stop shopping at Party + (again how apropos)[backed off of Stumps], check. Almost there...what's left? Oh, well we'll figure it out as we go. Feel free to let me know what's still on the to do list.

Year's half over

Can you believe it? So here's my update; Work at Goodwill is kinda boring...they work, I wait, They self check, I go over what they don't understand and that's about it. I do have one student who is dyslexic, MI, needs glasses and is trying to bluff his way thru a basic reader by just memorizing the story. If he could only match the word to memory he'd be reading. Oh, well!

1/2 day summer school starts on the 5th for a month, then one week off before school starts back.

Chuck's job is okay, he will stay for a least a one year commitment...jobs not requirinf "the test" are rare, we found out. WE figure a year and we'll be okay, unless we have to chase around the glode to attend a wedding......hint...hint.

It's been awhile

Sorry, I've been trying to learn this as well as Live journal.

School's out but not for me...weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Working nights at Goodwill teaching ABE/GED. two students at present but more to come.

Talked to Lance, he's doing fine. Talked to 'dela, not doing so good. Need to talk to Lliz.

Yesterday was Easter and Lance went back to Ft. Meade. I am sad because I keep thinking that it will be the last time he will come back just to hang out. I will be another year before he comes back here. I may be able to catch up with him on Josh's Vegas trip but finances aren't what they use to be. I guess I could go back to teaching making $20 more an hour, but then I'd have to risk ulcers and heart attacks. I'm really enjoying the freedom I have as an aide to help those who want help and in the classes they want it in. No lesson plan, teachers meetings, bus duties, madatory attendence at games...just helping kids learn.

For the record, I'm new at this technology business, but old chronologically. Trying to use this meduium to keep in touch with family and friends far away. Might try live journals too.
